About the Firm
Established in 1985, the firm has now been in business for approximately 23 years.

John Savage in relaxed mode

In November 1985, John Savage started his former accountancy business following a period of nearly ten years employed by Customs & Excise in the field of Value Added Tax. This gained him considerable experience with this complicated form of taxation, in which he also gained experience of investigation techniques, appeal work and VAT law. During 1985 he quit this employment in order to form his own business, and, until recently, had expanded his services to include all forms of accountancy and tax advice, specifically geared to small businesses, companies and private individuals.

In 1994 he qualified as a Fellow of the International Association of Book-keepers, and in 1995 was also admitted as an Associate of the Institute of Financial Accountants.

In April 2008 the general accountancy side of the business was transferred to the practice of Weston Underwood Chartered Accountancy [Link here]

Having investigation experience whilst employed by HM Customs and Excise, and more recent experience of defending investigations and in-depth VAT inspections whilst practicing as an accountant, John decided to specialise in assisting those unfortunate people selected for a tax enquiry.

The business was incorporated on 22nd April 2002, and commenced trading with effect from 1st May 2002. The Company is registered in England & Wales under number 4421867. Originally registered as Total Accounting Ltd, the company changed its name to Total Accounting (Cornwall) Ltd on 8th November 2004, and again to Revenue A-Tax Ltd on 12th September 2008.
